I can't remember the other sites right now. I'll add them here as a reply if I remember.

I experimented with it a little yesterday. I wasn't using a VPN when I got the infinite loop. I turned on my VPN but still got the loop. But after I turned the VPN back off the infinite loop was gone.

I got the infinite loop again later yesterday evening while not using a VPN. Switched the VPN on and then off again and then the loop was gone again. So it seems like a temporary fix although I have no idea why it works

Update:

We have tested the site and it seems that it has the same behaviour/issues in Chrome because of its end structure. They keep their image resources on cloudflare which responding too slow.
