How to disable running on startup

Solved Temi 20 days ago

After installing Aloha on desktop when I go to task manager I noticed aloha_service.exe running in the background every time I start my PC even if I don't launch the browser

Is there a way to disable this ?

Good day,

Thanks for your feedback. aloha_service.exe is not the main application (aloha.exe), but rather a background service.

It runs in the background to handle essential tasks, even when all browser windows are closed, such as:

  • Receiving notifications
  • Automatically updating extensions
  • Synchronising data (if enabled)
  • Managing update services

This ensures a smoother and more up-to-date browsing experience.

Regards,

Aloha Team

But can it be switched off ?

I have 5 other browsers installed and none of them except Edge run background processes unless started (which I would prefer to keep to a minimum since they use resources)

I figured out that by going to the Services Manager I can set it to 'disabled' which stops it until I need to open the browser but when I restart my PC it starts running again despite being 'disabled'

Thanks

We cannot disable the aloha_service, as doing so may cause Aloha to function unstably. This service is essential to ensure the system runs smoothly.

Thank you for your understanding.
