iOS background downloads do not work, v8.2.0

Ever since updating to v8.2.0 of Aloha browser the background downloads feature has not been working despite it being turned on in the settings, I do have Premium aswell. iOS version 26.3.1

on iOS 26.4 and Aloha version 8.3.0 I am still experiencing this issue, it does not matter which website I download from the issue still persists.

That site has its own download button, which may not always work correctly. We recommend trying the following steps instead:

Start playing the video
Tap the download button in the player’s media toolbar

If the download still doesn’t work, please send us a few more links to files where you’re experiencing the issue, and we’ll take a closer look.

just to clarify, I do have background downloads enabled in Aloha settings, i am a long-standing premium user, I have the latest version of iOS and I have background app refresh turned on in my phone settings, background downloads work with a multitude of other applications, it is just Aloha browser where this feature does not work. It doesn’t make a difference whether I use the websites download button or download through Aloha media player. The download starts fine but as soon as i go into another app the download freezes and only automatically resumes when I go back into the app. Thank you.
