App taking too much space

Solved Arushi Agrawal 6 years ago

Even after I delete all the downloads and clear the entire browsing history, the app is using 350 mb of space for “documents and data”. I think there’s a memory leak somewhere. The documents and data disappear only when I uninstall and then reinstall the app.

Please send us a report:

1. Go to iPhone Settings

2. Scroll down to find Aloha app and tap it

3. Turn Debug switch on

4. Go to Aloha app

5. Tap Report in the top right corner and send it to us

We will look into it as soon as we can.

If I clear the cache & cookies, will this also close all of my open tabs?

I'm trying to figure out if Aloha is taking up 70+? GB of cache/space on my 128GB iPad. I was always running out of memory, and kept deleting movies and apps to make more and more space. But I just kept running out despite freeing up several GB each time, and Aloha was the primary browser I used.

I don't want to lose the open tabs by either mistakingly clearing everything or deleting the app. Note: In the iPad Storage in "Settings", Aloha is currently showing 650MB. But I wonder if that number is accurate. I've also been updating the app over time (thereby keeping my open tabs), so I don't know if there's some residual material left in cache from the earlier versions of Aloha.

Thank you

Using an iPad with iOS 13.3.

im also experiencing the same issue. i was running out of space so i checked which app was taking up space. ALOHA Browser was taking up about 80gb so i decided to delete the videos clear cache history debug and delete the app. before doing so i check how much iPhone storage i had available and how much the app was taking. once i did these steps and restarted my phone i saw the videos were gone and app deleted but IT DID NOT decrease my iPhone storage at all. what i realize after reseting my phone from scratch is that i started to experiencing storage issues ever since deleting the app and videos. When i was restoring my phone i started to NOTICE that the iPhone storage under SYSTEMS and OTHER storage started to change from 80gb - 157gb -89gb within minutes of each other. this is the second time I've had this issue with the app,.

This looks like iOS glitch and not Aloha's faulty. Please consult with iOS support. Take care,

This is a F-you, not my problem response. Very disappointing.

Here's how I fixed the problem on my iPhone that had 5gb of files and data but nothing in the download folder (hint: the problem wasn't an iOS glitch).

1. I went into the Aloha Settings>Files and turned on "File Access"

2. I went into iPhone Settings>General>iPhone Storage>Aloha

With the File access turned on I could now see all the files and data stored in Aloha that somehow got hidden in the app due to an Aloha update or bug (again NOT iOS problem). These were NOT in my Aloha download folder.

3. I was able to delete the rogue files from here.

Thanks Aloha Support for you vigilance in helping out the community!

Hi, Karl

- What you are describing here is another case and in fact is iOS bug. This bug has been resolved in iOS and it now shows the right storage availability.

- in your case, it is an actual Aloha's bug - hidden Aloha files. So, download section shows no files, but the storage indicates that the files are still there. It is a temporary glitch and easy to solve by enabling Files Access switch in Aloha Downloads settings and then pulling down Downloads page to refresh. This is a temporary solution though, we are currently rewriting the code so it will be resolved in the near future.

Take care,

none of these things work for me. I deleted the app and all the files still seem to be there hidden, taking up all of my phone's storage. How do I access them and delete them?
