Hello,

Thank you for your message.

Please note that Apple has applied new rules to the app review process:

5.2.3 Audio/Video Downloading: Apps should not facilitate illegal file sharing or include the ability to save, convert, or download media from third party sources (e.g. Apple Music, YouTube, SoundCloud, Vimeo, etc.) without explicit authorisation from those sources.

https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/

So we had to change the way it works:

1. Youtube and Vimeo downloads does not work anymore (and won't be in any apps in the app store)

2. Other sites will work, but we have to approve it first.

So, when you see ‘Copyright Issues’ window tap Report button bellow. This link will be added to our database anonymously, and then once we approve this site it will download from it again without further questions.

As per video player, this bug will be fixed in the next update 👍

Kind regards,

Aloha Team

Hello

I’m not sure if this is where I should be putting this, but it’s the only place I could find. So here goes nothing. I’ve been using this browser for quite a long time and it’s always worked perfectly, until this morning. When it stopped working I opened the App Store and right at the top of the update list was Aloha browser. It was updated to iOS ver. 3.2.3. And now it won’t download anything. There’s no reason to list the URLs because every file I’ve downloaded has come from the same sites I trying to download from now. I don’t believe in coincidences, so when you put all this together I have to believe there’s a connection. The question is, what do I do about it? Two more things. 1. The browser itself works perfectly. It will play any file, any length as perfectly as Google or Firefox. It’s only the download feature that doesn’t work. First it shows download started, then download failed, and when I open up the target folder I get this:

2. I wanted to mention that I’m using iOS system ver. 14.7.1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Finally, I’m hoping you will put your response on this page as I have no access to email at this moment.

Thanks for listening

Greg

Hi, Greg

We will need video URL for testing, so please forward it to support@alohabrowser.com. Thank you.

Hello again

As I posted above I don’t have access to email. So emailing you a URL is a complete no go. But I would think the other thing I said would be enough to give you a complete enough picture of my issue. Once again, every single thing I have downloaded came from one of 5 different sites. Now it won’t download from even one of those sites. I’ll get you a URL if I can, but again, we’re not talking about one clip on one site. I have tried downloading I don’t know how many clips from these 5 sites, which again, has provided me with every clip in your download folder, and they’ve all failed. Plus I have seen multiple posts from other people with the exact same problem, who are probably trying to download from completely different sites than I am. So it’s not a site or a particular video clip problem, it’s an across the board problem which all started the day after your last upgrade. Please see if you can get it working. When it works it is a terrific browser. I actually put it on my iPad because of the download feature. But if you can’t get it working, well, I guess it’s back to Opera, Google and Firefox.

Thanks again

Greg

PS - I just noticed the post below from James. I’ve thought about deleting it and then reinstalling it, but I was afraid all my files would also be deleted. If you can assure me that won’t happen and the new browser will sync up with my current downloads, I’ll be happy to try that and let you know if that works.

Hi,

Deleting Aloha app will erase all your downloads, Aloha profile does not back up your files, so if you wish to delete Aloha, firstly back up your files on any cloud/pc.

In regards to downloads, try to clear cache/cookies in aloha privacy settings, reboot device, relaunch Aloha, reload webpage you are downloading from and try again. If downloading fails, you can post problematic URL's on this chat.

Hello

Thank you very much for the above post. I had a feeling that deleting the app would delete all my downloads. Glad I didn’t do it. Unfortunately, I tried everything you said to try and downloads still fail. So I will try to find a simple clip and put the URL below. If you can get it to download then maybe you can tell me what I should do. If you can’t download it then you have your work cut out for you.

Thanks much

Greg

Hello

I copied all my files to iCloud, uninstalled browser, re-installed new one, pasted files back in the files folder (they’re all there) so how do I get the new browser to see them.

Thanks

Greg

Hello,

You can move all the files in the Files app to Aloha folder.

Yes have you tried the debug mode or logging out then back in? I also heard that you can offload the app then reload it I have not tried that hope this helps you

OK

So I found a short clip for you to try to download. Now what? I’ve always assumed that I was supposed to put the URL below where it says “Attach a file.” Unfortunately I can’t paste it in or type it in there. I can paste it in the comment box, but that doesn’t seem right, so HELP.

Hello

I first want to thank everyone above for their help and suggestions. I only wish one of them had worked. But alas, none of them did. Now these links are for, how should I put it, an adult site. But I have to believe there are many people that download from similar sites and have probably sent in links to clips that show anything and everything. However, I didn’t want to embarrass anyone so I have sent what are called verification videos. All the people in them just either talk or act stupid. I think the reason for them is so they can post their own videos at a later time. Why anyone would want to put themselves doing that kind of thing on the internet is beyond me. As we all know, what is put on the internet stays on the internet forever. Maybe the want to show it to their kids somewhere down the road. “Hey look kids, there’s mom and dad on the flatscreen.” Well, it takes all kinds. Anyway, please give these links a try and see what you can do. I tried both of them just before I posted this and neither one worked. All I got were two banners at the top, Download Started and Download Failed. Keep in mind what I said above, that this site is the same as 3 or 4 other sites I download from, all with the same type of material. And before your last update I could download from any of them. One clip was 55 minutes long, and it downloaded perfectly. Now, I can’t download from any of them. So if you can download the links below please tell me how you did it so I can do it. I love Aloha Browser and don’t want to change, but without the download feature it’s no different than Google, Firefox, or Opera.

Thanks to whoever tries these and I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed

Greg

Hi, thanks for the links, both worked fine without any errors, downloaded all video resolutions.

What Aloha version do you have and what device model do you use?

Hello

That is so strange. As I said above, I tried downloading both of them and both failed. And since you now know the type of sites I’m talking about, I will tell you that just this minute I tried downloading a very short clip from Pornhub, a site which I’ve downloaded from many times, and once again, no luck. So let me give you all the details I can.

1. I am working on a what I believe to be third generation iPad. I would look to be sure but as you probably know that will log me out and I’ll have to start all over again. What I will do is look after I send this and just send you a one line message telling you what it is.

2. The browser is the latest one for lPad. As I said above, I uninstalled and reinstalled the browser, so it’s whatever is the latest ios version of Aloha Browser is what I’m using

3. The operating software is 14.6, the same as what is on my iPhone.

Hopefully with this information and what I’ll send you in just a moment you can figure this out. I really like the browser but if I can’t download anything it’s just like any other. I also want to emphasize that as soon as the first download failed I looked in the App Store and I saw you had just updated your browser that morning. So I have no doubt about when this problem started. It worked one day, you upgraded it the next morning, and it hasn’t worked since. That was definitely the tipping point.

So goodbye for now and I’ll send you the iPad info in just a second.

Hi there

I came back here to see if, after giving you all the info you asked for above, such as my iOS software version, your browser version and the model of my iPad, you had come up with something that would cause the browser I have to quit downloading anything. But I don’t see any comments after the last one of mine, so what now? I had hoped someone would try to come up with a solution. I mean, come on, I have given you a whole lot of information, probably more then I have given at any other time to someone trying to help me solve a problem, so work with me here. I have put in a lot of time on this issue and still all I know are two things. First, the problem started right after the update you did just before the most recent one and second, when I noticed you did another update just a few days ago, I tried downloading something again and it still won’t work. So what I’m saying is this. After. all of the above, I think you at least owe me an answer that will finally put an end to all this back and forth messaging so I can move on. There’s really only two things you can say. 1. You are still trying to figure this out, in which case I will continue to message and work with you or 2. You have no idea what the problem is and don’t think you can solve it, which seems a bit odd considering all the information I’ve given you, which is all pretty basic stuff, nothing very complicated, and I will call it quits and look for another way to download things. Please just don’t leave me in limbo.

Thanks much

Greg

I want to download porn video

photo

Hello Sohanur

So, you want to download some porn. Good luck. I’m not trying to be rude, but here’s the deal. Porn makes up much of what I downloaded with this browser when I first installed it. Now if you read my string of comments, you’ll understand why I said good luck. To save time however, I’ll give you the short version. I had been looking for quite awhile for something to download videos to my iPad. When I came across Aloha Browser I couldn’t have been happier. Not only could I download videos from just about any site, assuming they weren’t copyrighted of course, and that included porn sites as well. I was downloading from big sites like Pornhub, xvideos, and XNXX to sites you’ve probably never heard of. I remember looking for one particular clip which was 55 minutes long and extremely hard to find. But I eventually found it, on a site that I had never heard of and can’t remember the name of, but that’s OK. Aloha Browser handled it perfectly, as it always had with every download, so there’s no need to find that site again. That clip, as well as every other I’ve downloaded, is still in the Aloha folder in the iPad files folder, and plays like the day I first found it. And boy, am I glad that’s the case. About two months ago, I went to download a clip and it failed. When I looked in the apps store I noticed that the Aloha browser had been automatically updated, along with others, just as it’s supposed to do. Only problem is, ever since that update, I can’t download a single thing, porn or anything else. To answer your comment, it’s very simple to do. Just paste the URL of the clip you want to download into Aloha and hit return. What you want to download loads right away. Now with some sites like Pornhub you need to start playing the video. Then press slightly on the video and a context menu opens and gives you the option to download. Tap on that and a window opens where you can navigate to where you want to download it to. Press on that and, if available, you are shown a list of resolutions to pick from. I’ve found 480p is the best. It gives you very good quality without using too much storage space on your device. Now xvideos is even easier. No need to start playing the clip. Simply press on the the start arrow and go from there. But, I must reiterate, that was how it used to work. Now, for what it’s worth, the browser has been updated again, which didn’t help me at all, and somewhere above you will see 2 URLs which I couldn’t download but someone at Aloha Support said downloaded just fine. If you have the time you might want to read all the back and forth between me, Aloha Support and others to get the entire picture. You’ll see I’ve given out much info on what device I’m using, version info, etc., and have received many things to try by Aloha and others, which I honestly do appreciate, but at the end of it all I still can’t download anything. So try my instructions above, make something up, try anything. Just promise me if you find a way that works you’ll put it here in great detail so I can try it, because right now I’m looking for some other way to download things.

Again, good luck

Greg

Hello Aloha Help

I’m just checking in. Periodically I try downloading something to see if you’ve fixed my problem, but unfortunately it seems to be getting worse, not better. It used to be I would put in a URL, it would load, it would start playing, and then the download failed. Now I put in a URL, and I have to tap the play arrow at least a half dozen times before it even will play. Then, after it finally starts, the download fails. Listen, you know what you did in both of your last upgrades, so why can’t you go back, look what you did, and figure out what you did so it works for you and not for me. I refuse to believe I’m the only person in the entire world that experiences this problem. I bet most people don’t try to contact you, they just delete your browser and try to find something else. At least I take the time to give you information to work with and try to solve the problem. But, since I haven’t heard a single thing from Aloha Help in 41 days, I have to assume you’ve just blown me off completely. It doesn’t work, oh well, too bad. So I’m only keeping your browser on my iPad until I can attach your files to a different browser and then I will delete yours and that will be it. Oh, and keep in mind, I won’t be recommending your browser to anyone. I don’t recommend things to others when I know there isn’t any support that goes along with it. So, I had a good run for awhile, but all I can say now is, thank you for nothing.
