Serious problem: Does Aloha VPN only work in the Aloha web browser?

Completed Mesa Robio 2 months ago

Afternoon everyone,

I was about to sign up to Aloha premium and become a paying customer but I just wanted to know something for certain.

My question is when the Aloha web browser VPN is turned on, does this VPN only change the IP address of my Aloha web browser?

I'M EXTREMELY worried about the Aloha VPN changing all ip addresses of all the Apps I have opened on my PC. In other words, I don't want the Aloha VPN to effect my entire Windows PC device...

My problem is that I do online banking and other work related tasks using another browser and I CANNOT use a VPN for these as security mechanisms will go off and I'll be banned from websites that I use that do not allow VPNs to be used.

Can anyone please help me?

Thank you!

Hi there,

Thanks for posting! At the moment our windows version VPN only has device wide service, so the option to have it active only within Aloha browser is not available, we have this option working on mobile and tablet devices for both iOS and Android. I can only suggest you to use your own country server on the windows version so your banking apps don't get alarmed, but at the same time your IP address will remain private.

Regards,

Aloha Team

Wow, I wasn't expecting such an informative response!

You're very kind to answer my question.

I'm really saddened to hear that Aloha on Windows effects the entire PC as I just want a VPN that only works exclusively in the web browser...

I'll take a closer look at the android and iOS versions because you said that Aloha exclusively runs within the Aloha and doesn't alter the IP of other apps that are running on the Android/iOS device.

Hi there! We will have more options available in the future releases regarding VPN service within Windows version, so please stay tuned! In the meantime please explore Aloha on mobile or tablet 🙂

You're very kind to continue answering my questions!

Do you know when Aloha VPN will be available on Windows? I love using it on Android and I'd buy the Aloha Premium if it came to Windows!

It is available on Windows and use can use it with the same subscription via Aloha profile account!

I understand that Aloha on Windows has a VPN but the problem is that I only want the VPN to alter the IP address of the websites that are being used within Aloha. I have other apps I need to be running in the background that cannot have their IP address or I will be banned from those apps like my banking app and financial transaction apps.

This is why after using Aloha on Android and realising that only the IP addresses of the websites within Aloha were altered and the other apps on my Android phone remained unchanged that I believed I had found the perfect web browser!

Maybe there is a workaround that can be done like using split tunneling within Aloha for when I use my Windows PC? :( :( :(
